The Local Exploration of Magnetic Field Effects in Semiconductors

چکیده
This study reports on the local exploration of magnetic field effects in semiconductors, including silicon (Si), germanium (Ge), gallium arsenide (GaAs), and indium phosphide (InP) using time differential perturbed angular correlation (TDPAC) technique. TDPAC measurements were carried out under external fields with strengths 0.48 T 2.1 at room temperature, 77 K following implantation 111In (111Cd) probes. Defects caused by ion could be easily removed thermal annealing an appropriate temperature. The agreement between measured Larmor frequencies theoretical values confirms that almost no intrinsic point defects are present semiconductors. At low temperatures, electric interaction sets in. It stems from electron capture after-effect. In case silicon, this effect is well visible. associated a double charge state defect ion. No such arise GaAs InP where Cd contributes only single electronic state. correspond to also temperatures.

ANALYSIS OF SOME MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF DILUTED MAGNETIC SEMICONDUCTORS
The susceptibility and specific heat experimental results of the diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) are incorporated in a model based on short-range as well as long-range interaction in a random may of magnetic ions. The so-called nearestneighbor pair approximation (NNPA) is applied. It appears that the calculated values of zero field specific heat and Curie-Weiss temperature based on th...

متن کاملDisorder effects in diluted magnetic semiconductors
In recent years, disorder has been shown to be crucial for the understanding of diluted magnetic semiconductors. Effects of disorder in these materials are reviewed with the emphasis on theoretical works. The types and spatial distribution of defects are discussed. The effect of disorder on the intimately related transport and magnetic properties are considered from the viewpoint of both the ba...
متن کاملOFFPRINT Photoproduction in semiconductors by onset of magnetic field
The energy bands of a semiconductor are lowered by an external magnetic field. When a field is switched on, the straight-line trajectories near the top of the occupied valence band are curved into Landau orbits and Bremsstrahlung is emitted until the electrons have settled in their final Fermi distribution. We calculate the radiated energy, which should be experimentally detectable, and suggest...
